Very slow growing, grows to the size of a baseball in ten years.  Good for bonsai or very small edge.

(Dwarf English Boxwood)

Grows 1"-2" per year.
Dark green, naturally grows in a globe shape. Ideal for edges and parterres and knot gardens and mixing with perennials. When perennials die back the beautiful globes fill in for the winter.

Conical growing habit good for hedges.

Grows wider than tall. Very nice for shorter hedges and contrast in knot gardens.

Larger, rounded leaf.
Very good for screens and hedges.

Slow growing 3" - 4" per year.
The bright yellow adds contrast and interest to any garden. Nice contrast texture in knot gardens. In darker regions of a garden it actually glows.

(Japanese Boxwood)

Grows 4"-6" per year.
Glossy, rounded leaf,
beautiful for hedges.

Smaller leaf grows more into a globe shape, blue green. Ideal for hedges or edges.

1.  Planting site should have good drainage.

2.  Boxwood will grow in most soils. Avoid heavy clay. Amend soil, if needed, with silt, sand, or an organic material.

3.  Fertilize the first week of March with a balanced, slow release fertilizer (such as 10-10-10).   Established Boxwood should not need fertilizer unless a deficiency is apparent.

4.  Prune after new growth becomes woody (early June). New growth will appear again in the middle of August.
